Summer is here! It’s time to spice up your barbecue table with a new recipe that is different and healthy. Buffalo chicken burgers/patties are a great way to incorporate some of those great flavors found in buffalo wings or even your go-to summer dips into a new dish. These are so simple to put together and can be cooked over a stovetop or grill. Whether it be a weekday meal or a anniversary cookout, these never fail to impress and, of course, go great with blue cheese accompaniments!

Ingredients (Buffalo Chicken Burgers)

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground uncooked chicken
  • 4 tbsp buffalo sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil + additional butter
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 4 tbsp blue cheese, crumbled
  • 3 tbsp red onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 cups sliced onions
  • Buns and more condiments

Method

Prep Time: 20 min

Cook Time 20 min

(Serves 4)

  1. In a bowl, combine ground chicken, olive oil, buffalo sauce, and 1/2 tsp salt. In another bowl, make the side sauce: mix blue cheese, onion, cumin, and sour cream (and additional buffalo sauce).
  2. Pan sear the burgers over medium heat for 12-15 minutes until fully cooked. Towards the end, brush butter and additional buffalo sauce on both sides of the patty.
  3. Once finished, serve with the sauce and additional condiments.
