Pasta with ground beef is my ultimate comfort food. It cooks really fast and is perfect when you want the satisfaction of a home cooked meal, but don’t have too much time to do it or time to shop for fancy ingredients. In this dish, you will create Penne pasta smothered in a hearty tomato-based, ground beef sauce flavored with just the right amount of mushrooms. I know you’ll savor every mouthful!
Ingredients (Beef Pasta)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- Ground black pepper ¼ teaspoon
- Red Chili powder ½ teaspoon (optional for spicy variation)
- 4 of mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic paste or 4-5 cloves of finely minced garlic
- 3 medium tomatoes finely chopped
- 3 tbsp. tomato paste
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- 7-8 oz. pasta (penne or rigatoni)

Cook Time: 15 min
Serves 4-6
- Sauté the onion in olive oil until translucent
- Add ground beef, salt and pepper (or chili powder), and garlic, Brown the ground beef well.
- Add mushrooms, oregano, tomatoes and tomato paste. Still well and cook on high for 2-3 minutes.
- Add ¼ cup water and simmer for 10-15 minutes until it has a sauce like consistency
- Cook past on boiling water until tender. Drain pasta, wash with cold water and then drain again. Toss it with some a tsp of olive oil.
- Add pasta to meat sauce, toss and serve.
